Nietzke & Faupel, PC Team Members

 

 









Jeff Bushey, CPA, Managing Partner

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University. He began working at Nietzke & Faupel after graduation and earned his CPA license in 1987. He became a partner of the firm in 1992. Jeff began serving as Managing Partner of Nietzke & Faupel, PC on January 1, 2009.

He devotes most of his time to agricultural accounting and travels frequently to visit clients in southern Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Jeff is a member and past president of the Farm Financial Standards Council, a nation-wide organization committed to standardizing the reporting formats of agricultural entities.

Jeff grew up on a farm and is still actively involved in the family farming operation. A sunny spring day might find him slipping away from the office to spray sugar beets or help get the planting done before the rain moves in!

Jeff is a member of the MACPA and the AICPA. He is also a member and past president of the Pigeon Lions Club, and a member of St. Felix Catholic Church.










Don Faupel, CPA, Partner

Don graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He earned his CPA license in 1980. Don served as Managing Partner of Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. from 2001 through 2008. He continues as partner and head of the Tax and Audit departments.

Don participates in many professional, community and church activities. He is a member of the MACPA, AICPA, and the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council. He is also a member and past chairman of the MACPA Agribusiness Committee; member and past president of the Pigeon Rotary Club, past treasurer of the Pigeon EDC; and past treasurer and director of Bluewater Thumb Youth for Christ.  Don is a deacon at Elkton Missionary Church, where he also serves on the counsel.

A sports enthusiast, Don is an avid collector of baseball cards. (Call him if you have a good one to trade or sell!) He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Barb, and two teenage sons, David and Kevin.  Golfing and reading fill up his "spare" time.










Eugene Gascho, COO

Joining the team in the fall of 2000, Eugene Gascho brought valuable business experience to Nietzke & Faupel. Eugene's experience includes the construction trades, managing rental properties and 20 years in retail store management. 

Eugene currently serves as the firm's Chief of Operations and as head of the Administrative Department.  He also manages the firms use of technology and equipment.  Eugene works closely with the two partners of Nietzke & Faupel, PC and serves on the Board of Directors. 

Eugene is a member of the Association of Accounting Administrators and it's assoicated Michigan chapter.  He is a member of the Pigeon Rotary Club and an active member and elder of the Pigeon River Mennonite Church.










Allan Nietzke, CPA, Consultant

Allan Nietzke joined Leppien & Company in 1969. In 1979 Nietzke first appeared in our firm's name and in 1992 this accounting firm reorganized as Nietzke & Faupel, PC.  He served as the firm's managing partner until 2001.  Allan attended Northeastern School of Commerce, and achieved his CPA designation in 1969.  Allan divides his time between our Pigeon and Sebewaing offices. Specializing in tax and estate issues, Allan serves as the tax resource and research person for our other professional team members.  He does a great job keeping everyone up to date on the constantly changing tax laws.

Al has been very active in the accounting profession at the local, state and national level. His achievements include serving as past president of the Michigan Association of CPAs. Al is currently a member of the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council. He is also very active in civic affairs. He was a member of the Jaycees, where he served as chapter president twice and was awarded a JCI Senatorship. He is a member of the Sebewaing Rotary Club, where he served as president twice and also received the Paul Harris Fellow award. Over the years he has: served as treasurer of the Scheurer Hospital Building Fund; served on the Sebewaing Medical Clinic board; served on the board of directors of the Sebewaing Chamber of Commerce; served on the Sebewaing Village Council. Al also works with the Sebewaing Harbor Commission. He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, where he has served as treasurer, vice-chairman and chairman of the congregation in addition to being an usher for over twenty years.

In his spare time Al enjoys reading and golfing, and hunting.  And after many, many years of hunting for deer, he finally brought a buck home. He also enjoys spending time with his  grandchildren.









Brian Hazard, CPA, Principal

Brian attended Spring Arbor College and Western Michigan University, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He joined Nietzke and Faupel in 1981 and earned his CPA license in 1983.  In addition to his accounting, auditing and tax work, Brian is in charge of our firm's Quality Control procedures and helps our firm utilize technology. We also depend on Brian to keep everyone up to date on the accounting industry's ever-changing reporting requirements.

Brian is a member of the MACPA and the AICPA. He is past treasurer of the Pigeon Rotary Club and the Pigeon Chamber of Commerce. Brian enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and remote controlled models.









Jo Ann Lakie, CPA, Principal

Jo Ann graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a "Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting" degree. She earned her CPA license in 1987, after sitting for the exam only once.

Jo Ann works in our Sebewaing office. Her duties include the whole array of accounting tasks, corporate tax preparation, and governmental audits. Along with that she serves as Administrator of the Sebewaing office, where she is in charge of training team members and keeping the office running smoothly.  Recently Jo Ann has also become a certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor and now provides support for a number of our clients who use QuickBooks accounting software.

 Jo Ann is a member of both the MACPA and the AICPA. She is also a member and past president of the Sebewaing Rotary Club. She is an active member of Immanual Lutheran Church, where she has served as director of the Vacation Bible School program and as secretary of the Endowment Committee. Jo Ann enjoys camping, spending time with family and friends, and walking.










Cheryl Albrecht, Manager, Administration

Cheryl received her Associate Degree of Business from Hesston College located in Hesston, Kansas. Her major was in medical administration. After marrying a Bay Port native, Cheryl moved from her home state of Illinois to the Thumb. She came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1988, following several years of working in a local physician's office. Cheryl is the Assistant Administrator at our firm, and also manager of the support department.  Her role here continues to expand every year as she takes on more administrative duties to ease the load on the partners.

Cheryl is an active member at Pigeon River Mennonite Church. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and visiting friends and family back in Illinois.









Nancy Smith, Manager, Accountant

Nancy graduated magna cum laude from Northwood University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. Nancy took a huge course load and graduated from college in only 2 1/2 years!  She came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1988 and helps to head our busy compliance department.  Her duties include preparing tax returns, financial statements, and managing many monthly accounting jobs. 

Nancy is a certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor.  She enjoys installing QuickBooks for businesses and providing training and support. Her knowledge of how to customize QuickBooks to meet specific business needs is appreciated by many clients. 

Nancy enjoys spending time with her family.  Her husband Scott is a partner in Smith Family Farms, a local dairy and cash crop farming operation.  They have 3 children, Jason, Sara, and Katie.










Becky Fiebig, CPA, Senior Accountant

Becky joined the team at Nietzke & Faupel during 2003 after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Ferris State University.  She earned her CPA license in 2008 and is currently a Senior Accountant with the firm.  Becky began working in the Dairy Dept and has moved to the Sebewaing office to expand into the tax and audit areas.  She is a member of the MACPA and AICPA. 

 

Becky and her husband Joel are life long residents of the Sebewaing area and enjoy spending time with their son Kasen. 










Dan Drabek, CPA, Senior Accountant

Dan graduated cum laude from Baker College, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  He came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1990.  He earned his CPA license in 1993 and is currently a Senior Accountant at our firm. Dan prepares hundreds of tax returns during tax season, as well as working hard on financial statement preparation and other bookkeeping tasks during the rest of the year.  

Dan is a member of the MACPA and the AICPA.  He is also very civic minded!  Dan is the Treasurer and past President of the Pigeon Lions Club, Secretary/Treasurer of the Winsor Township Fire Department, and President of the Huron County Firemen Association. He is also a member of the Oliver Township Planning Commission, the Caseville Eagles Club, and the Pigeon Conservation Club.    









Mandie Krohn, CPA, Senior Accountant

Mandie joined Nietzke & Faupel in 1999 and is a Certified Public Accountant.  She holds a Senior Accountant title. Her duties include preparation of accrual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.  She also prepares income tax returns, as well as assisting with school and village audits and other bookkeeping duties. Mandie majored in accounting at Alma College, graduating  with a Business Administration degree. 

She enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and being with friends.









Laura Kramer, CPA, Senior Accountant

Laura Kramer graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in December of 2004 with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy. She joined our team in 2005 and is currently a Staff Accountant, primarily working with agri-business clients. Laura grew up in Harbor Beach and in her spare time enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.

 










Carol Loeffler, Senior Accountant

Carol is a Senior Accountant here at Nietzke & Faupel. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Saginaw Valley State University, with a major in accounting. Her duties at our Sebewaing office include client bookkeeping tasks, preparation of income tax and payroll tax returns, and assisting with audits.








Jodi Reinhardt, Senior Accountant

Jodi Reinhardt graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1990 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree. She joined our team in 2001.  Jodi serves as a senior accountant in our accounting department and primarily works with large agri-business clients.

Jodi is active in her community coaching 6-8 year olds in softball. She is part of the USA Schools' Parent Group, and works in her church's Sunday School department.  Jodi is an avid NASCAR racing fan, enjoys camping, and taking care of her pets.  She and her husband Marc have three daughters, McKenzie, Sara, and Macy.










Sue Rochefort-Peterson, Senior Accountant

Sue Rocherfort-Perterson joined the Nietzke & Faupel, PC firm in January 2002.  She works in our accounting department with agri-business clients.  Sue obtained an Associate degree in Accounting from Delta College in 1995.

Sue enjoys singing in community and church choirs. She keeps busy with her husband Jerry and their five children, Nick, Kevin, Rachel, Missy, and Jay. 










Bill Roemer, Accountant

Bill Roemer attended Saginaw Valley State University and finished his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in accounting in December of 2006.  He serves as a staff accountant in the agriculture department working with agri-business clients.  Bill graduated from Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools and currently resides outside Unionville with his wife, Tressa.  In his spare time Bill enjoys woodworking and vacationing in Northern Michigan.

Megan Romzek, Accountant

Megan Romzek attended Saginaw Valley State University and finished her Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree in June 2006.  She joined the team in July 2006 and serves as a staff accountant in the agriculture accounting department.  She has great passion for the dairy industry and its ever changing financial and technological environment.  Megan says, "There is never a dull moment in dairy!"  She resides in Pigeon, Michigan moving there from her home town of Argyle, Michigan where she graduated from Deckerville High School in 2002.  Megan’s personal time currently is spent preparing for the CPA exam.   










Sara Mallory, Accountant

Sara graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in April 2004 with a Bachlors of Professional Accountancy degree.  Sara worked part time for us during several tax seasons before coming on board full time in January 2002.  She is enjoying tax and audit work, as well as some routinue monthly bookkeeping for clients.

She is an active member of the Elkton Chamber of Commerce, and enjoys spending her free time walking, reading, spending time with family and friends.










Steve Krohn, Accountant










Deb Eden, Paraprofessional

Deb Eden started with our support team and then moved to accounting work. She currently processes payrolls for many of our clients.  We appreciate her skills in this important area of our services.  We also appreciate the backup support Deb gives to the administration team.

Deb keeps very active with her husband and two teenage daughters. She serves on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth Board. 










Tonia Mosack, Receptionist/Document Assembly & Retention - Pigeon Office

Tonia Mosack joined our firm in 2005.  Tonia primarily works in the administrative department assembling tax returns and financial statement documents and keeping our digital and paper files in order. 

Tonia and her husband Chuck live in Elkton with their 5 children Megan, Madison, Bailey, Brooklynne, Austin, and their dog Millie.  She enjoys golfing, softball, walking, and sewing.
